Gunnar Elseth: Experienced Group Leader & Nurse from Norway

Gunnar is from Norway, where he is a trained nurse and has 25 years of experience in psychiatry, emergency medicine and anaesthesia. This has meant many meetings with people in vulnerable situations, where trust, security and mastery are important elements in order to be able to be present in oneself and what is happening.

Gunnar has eleven years of experience from the course farm Mullingstorp, where he was both assistant and group leader. He has studied the Diamond Approach since 2012 – an education with an existential approach where meditation and inquiries are the main tools in the development process.

"All self-development is about getting close to yourself - to "go" towards truth. Being with others in their search for their truth is very exciting and rewarding. Because when you know what is true, you don't need to hunt for confirmation out there. We are no longer so caught up in our own expectations of the environment or dependent on their response. When we know what is true for you, it becomes quieter on the inside and you stand firmer in being yourself. To learn to take responsibility for what you know, listen to what you really need and live more and more with your whole self, your freedom. Then it is again possible to get in touch with joy, spontaneity, power, compassion and healthy will, which are inherent in all of us. Something nice happens to people when they feel seen, heard and taken seriously".

These words of the poet Rumi have followed me on my journey.
"Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find the barriers within yourself that you have built against it".
